2nd Cebu Pacific Airbus319, to service more Domestic and Regional routes
Cebu Pacific (CEB) will take delivery of its second brand-new Airbus A319 aircraft on October 24, 2005 from Hamburg, Germany, which will be used on domestic and regional routes.
The first A319 was delivered last September.
Bong Mojica, CEB general manager, said the A319 will allow the airline to continue offering its trademark value fares since it burns less fuel while carrying more passengers and cargo.
The airline will take delivery of two more A319s this December and eight more through 2006 until early 2007 for its complete re-fleeting program aimed at expanding domestic and regional operations.
CEB now uses three brand-new aircraft to service its routes. Its two A320s delivered last May and June service the Davao and Cebu routes, while the first A319 aircraft, delivered last month, is being utilized for Cagayan de Oro, and soon, for Hong Kong routes.
Both A319 and A320 aircraft are widely accepted as the industry standard in their class for low maintenance and fuel cost. These aircraft are designed to offer wider cabin, bigger overhead bins and larger cargo hold.
The new aircraft are expected to cut by at least 20 percent Cebu Pacific’s operating and maintaining costs while increasing its passenger capacity.
