CEB offers ‘Go’ fares for Hong Kong at PhP1,999

Cebu Pacific (CEB), the airline unit of JG Summit Holdings Inc., is offering its ‘Go’ fares for Manila-Hong Kong flights beginning tomorrow (November 25, 2005) for travel effective January 9, 2006 onwards. Fares start at P1,999 for Manila-Hong Kong, a reduction of more than 80% from current fares.

“After rolling out the ‘Go’ fares on CEB’s domestic routes, we are now ready to offer it to our regional sectors, starting in January 2006, with Hong Kong at PhP1,999. We are the country’s first low cost carrier and we are committed to continue giving the Filipino public low fares.”, Bong Mojica, CEB General Manager said.

“We hope that this will also allow more Overseas Filipino Workers based in Hong Kong to come home and see their families more often and for those who can’t come home, perhaps the ‘Go’ fares will allow their families to visit them in Hong Kong instead ” he added.

The Manila-Hong Kong route will be serviced by CEB’s brand new 150-seater Airbus A319. CEB operates twice a day flights to Hong Kong with the morning flight leaving Manila at 8:00am and arriving in Hong Kong at 10:00am while the afternoon flight leaves Manila at 4:40pm arriving Hong Kong at 6:40pm.

“We urge everyone to plan and book you’re their trip ahead of time. It’s never too early to buy your tickets for travel in 2006.” Mojica said.

He emphasized “CEB is all about offering choices. If traveling on business and your plans may change, get the Flexi fare, which allows you to change your schedule up to 45 minutes before departure at no charge. If , however , changes to plans aren’t likely then get a ‘Go’ fare which requires a 48 hour notice for changes prior to departure with payment of applicable fees.”

The airline recently opened its first regional office in Kowloon, Hong Kong to facilitate ticket sales and reservations and function as customer support. CEB’s HK office will also be used to boost the airline’s promotion and marketing efforts in HK, China, Macao, Taiwan and Japan.

CEB pioneered low fares in the country in March 1996, forcing other airlines to do so too. It also was the first to introduce on-time service, e-ticketing, fun games on flights, and flight booking through SMS.
