Cebu Pacific News ArchiveCebu Pacific Announces WorldPerks Partnership with Northwest AirlinesCebu Pacific proudly announces its participation in the Worldperks Program of Northwest Airlines. Effective February 16, 2001 , all Worldperks members will be able to earn miles and redeem award travel on Cebu Pacific flights. With each Cebu Pacific flight, members can earn a minimum of 250 miles or actual miles flown. Worldperks members worlwide, and no less than 169,000 members residing in the Philippines , will benefit from this tie-up. “We are extremely pleased to have been chosen by Northwest Airlines as its Worldperks Program partner in the Philippines ,” says Manolo San Juan, Cebu Pacific vice president for Marketing. “Cebu Pacific is a wonderful addition to our growing list of partner airlines. This tie-up will be very beneficial to all our Worldperks members as they will now have more holiday destinations to choose from, as well as have more opportunities to earn more miles towards free flights. We are excited to be partners with a great local airline and we are looking into developing this relationship even further,” adds Laurie Lofgren, Northwest Airlines general manager for the Philippines , Guam & Micronesia. Worldperks is the most generous frequent flyer program in Asia Pacific, and is the highest rated US-based program reviewed by Inside-Flyer Magazine, the leading authority on airline free travel programs. In 1999, Worldperks was also named the most preferred frequent flyer program by readers of TIME Magazine in Asia . Cebu Pacific, the country's second largest carrier, is known for being an on-time, great value airline. It has carried more than five million passengers since 1996, and currently flies to 11 destinations: Manila , Cebu , Davao , Dumaguete, Iloilo , Kalibo, Zamboanga, Cagayan de Oro, Tacloban, Roxas and Bacolod . Cebu Pacific also has its own frequent flyer program called Summit Club, launched in June of 2000.
