Cebu Pacific Beefs Up Fleet With Another B757

Cebu Pacific (CEB), the country's second flag-carrier, expects the delivery of its second Boeing 757 plane on Wednesday, February 20, as part of its initial thrust to strengthen its international operations.

Dubbed the "City of Manila," the B757 will be used for Cebu Pacific's Seoul-Manila route. As its name implies, the aircraft's facade will feature livery that typify the hustle and bustle of Manila , considered to be one of the key cities of Southeast Asia.

Last December, the first of Cebu Pacific's Boeing 757 aircraft was delivered to Manila . With an original passenger capacity of 200, the said plane was re-configured by Cebu Pacific to accommodate 179 seats to give passengers more personal space.

Cebu Pacific launched its regional operations in the Asia-Pacific last November, with twice-daily flights to Hong Kong. In addition, the airline began its twice-weekly charter flights between Cebu and Seoul last February 9. Aside from Hong Kong and Seoul, the airline is eyeing possible flights to Singapore and China among other destinations.

About the new Boeing 757

Last December 15, 2001 Cebu Pacific welcomed the newest member of its family, the Boeing 757. The second B757, dubbed the “City of Manila ” came two months later, February 20, 2002 . Space and Comfort

The Boeing 757 –200 is a large single-aisle airplane that offers ample personal space. Capable of carrying more than two hundred passengers, Cebu Pacific's plane will have only 179 seats in a two class configuration -- to provide better comfort and space to its passengers.

Said Mr. Lance Gokongwei, Cebu Pacific President and CEO “We chose the Boeing 757-200 because of several reasons…among these are passenger comfort and aircraft reliability.” Bill Oberlin, Boeing Sales Director for the Philippines adds, “Passengers receive a first class ride regardless of where they sit on the 757.”

For total passenger convenience, the 757's dispatch reliability is exceptional. This means passengers leave on time and arrive at their destinations as scheduled.

“We take our on-time performance very seriously and we're quite proud of our record,” said Gokongwei. “This is another reason why we opted for the B757.”
