Cebu Pacific introduces all leather seating
Cebu Pacific (CEB), the Philippine’s low fare leader, announced that it is introducing all leather seating as part of its ongoing product transition and growth strategy. CEB is the only Filipino airline operating with an all leather seat interior for its brand new fleet of Airbus aircraft.
Candice Iyog, CEB marketing director, said that “The leather seat is designed for passenger comfort and is part of the airline’s high quality product offering. We truly believe at CEB a low fare can still mean delivering a high quality product. We believe that all leather seating is a component of the high quality product that we want to consistently deliver to our Guests onboard.”
CEB is currently more than half way through re-fitting its fleet with leather seats with the remainder of the fleet being completed by the end of October 2006.
“We not only want more Filipinos flying but we believe that all flyers no matter the fare they are paying should be accommodated in comfort and that’s what we aim to deliver partly as a consequence of our new leather seats.”
CEB has the youngest fleet in the Philippines and one of the youngest in Asia as it operates 12 brand new Airbus aircraft. The airline awaits the delivery of two more Airbus aircraft until February 2007 to complete its $670 million re-fleeting program.
CEB pioneered low fares in the Philippines in March 1996 and is the second largest carrier in the Philippines with a market share of over 40%. Now in its 11th year, the airline services 18 domestic Philippine destinations and also flies to Hong Kong, Singapore and Seoul, South Korea. It also introduced travelers to on-time service, e-ticketing and on-line booking, setting the standards for airline innovation in the Philippine aviation industry.
