Cebu Pacific now flying Manila to Bangkok

Cebu Pacific (CEB), the country’s low fare leader and leading domestic carrier inaugurates its maiden flight from Manila to Bangkok, Thailand today, December 14, 2006.

CEB’s Manila-Bangkok service is scheduled to operate every Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. The flight departs from Manila at 10:45pm and arrives in Bangkok at 12:50am the following day. The flight then leaves Bangkok at 1:35am to arrive back in Manila at 5:40am.

CEB will be operating from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila and the new Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok.

“The response to our Bangkok service has been very encouraging. In fact, today’s maiden flight to and from Bangkok are already fully booked. We’re seeing healthy loads for the coming months as well. Hopefully, our year-round lowest fares will continue to encourage travel and tourism for the Philippines and Thailand as this benefits the economies of both countries,” Candice Iyog CEB marketing director said.

The lowest ‘Go’ fare to Bangkok starts from P2,999 one-way. ‘Go’ fares are exclusive of surcharges and government tax. The best way to buy tickets is though CEB’s website (cebupacificair.com).

“Bangkok, like the Philippines, is known as one of Asia’s shopping havens and now that CEB is offering a direct service and the lowest fares to and from Bangkok, more people can enjoy the shopping experience in some of the world’s best shopping destinations without spending so much on their airfare,” Iyog added.

Now in its 11th year, CEB has the newest fleet in the Philippines and one of the newest in Asia, with a fleet age of less than 10 months, as it operates 12 brand new Airbus aircraft to its 20 domestic and 7 regional destinations. The airline awaits the delivery of two more Airbus aircraft in early 2007 to complete its $670 million re-fleeting program.
