Cebu Pacific adds frequencies for summer peak
In anticipation of the upcoming summer season, Cebu Pacific (CEB), the country’s low fare leader and leading domestic carrier will increase its frequencies from Manila to Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Bacolod and Iloilo from March 22 to June 12, 2007.
“We are mounting additional flights on some of our trunk routes in order to fill the need for more capacity during the summer. More importantly, with these additional flights, this means that we will be able to provide more low fares to the public,” Candice Iyog, CEB marketing director said.
The additional A320 Manila-Davao service, which will increase this route’s frequencies from four to five times daily, is scheduled to depart Manila at 12:55pm, arriving in Davao at 2:40pm; the flight departs Davao at 3:10pm and arrives in Manila at 4:55pm. The lowest ‘Go’ fare for this route starts from P998 one-way.
The Manila-Cagayan de Oro service will go from three to four times daily. The additional flight, which will utilize an A320, is scheduled to leave Manila at 9:00am, arriving in Cagayan de Oro at 10:25am; the flight takes off from Cagayan de Oro at 10:55am and lands in Manila at 12:20pm. The lowest ‘Go’ fare for this route starts from P998 one-way.
For the Manila-Bacolod service, flights will go from three to four times daily, with the additional A319 flight departing Manila at 6:00pm, and arriving in Bacolod at 7:05pm. The flight departs Bacolod at 7:35pm and arrives in Manila at 8:40pm. The lowest ‘Go’ fare for this route starts from P568 one-way.
The Manila-Iloilo route will get an additional daily flight, increasing its total number to four times daily. The added A319 Manila-Iloilo service is scheduled to depart Manila at 7:40pm, arriving in Iloilo at 8:40pm; the flight leaves Iloilo at 9:10pm and arrives in Manila at 10:10pm. The lowest ‘Go’ fare for this route starts from P568 one-way.
Iyog said that the best way to get the lowest fares is to plan your trip and book your flight ahead of time. “Another travel tip for those who are unable to get the lowest ‘Go’ fares is – travel on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, there are a lot a low fares available in the middle of the week.”
“CEB is the biggest airline operator in the Philippines, in terms of offering the most frequencies, destinations, routes and flights,” added Iyog.
Now in its 11th year, CEB has the newest fleet in the Philippines, and one of the newest in Asia as it operates 13 brand new Airbus aircraft to its 20 domestic and 7 international destinations. The airline awaits the delivery of one more Airbus aircraft in March 2007 to complete its $670 million re-fleeting program.
