Cebu Pacific intensifies Cebu hub operations

Budget carrier Cebu Pacific (CEB) announces that it will further strengthen operations from its Cebu hub with the introduction of its Cebu-Cagayan de Oro service starting September 27, 2007 and increased capacity for Cebu-Hong Kong flights beginning September 13, 2007.

The Cebu–Cagayan de Oro service is offered at a special introductory one-way fare of P98 only. The seat sale will run from August 9 to 15, 2007 and this may be availed for travel from September 27 to December 15, 2007. The one-way fare is exclusive of applicable government taxes, surcharges, and is non-refundable.

The direct Cebu–Cagayan de Oro service is scheduled to operate thrice a week (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday) using CEB’s Airbus A319 aircraft. The flight departs from Cebu at 1:05pm and arrives in Cagayan de Oro at 1:50pm. The flight leaves Cagayan de Oro at 2:20pm and lands in Cebu at 3:05pm.

CEB’s added Thursday frequency increased its capacity for its Cebu-Hong Kong service by 20%. CEB will continue to use its 150-seater aircraft for its six times weekly Cebu-Hong Kong service.

Candice Iyog, CEB VP for marketing and product said, “We are happy that with our very low fares, local residents of Cebu and tourists can now easily travel to Cagayan de Oro and Hong Kong. The introduction of this new service and additional frequency is a manifestation of our steadfast commitment to bring air travel closer to more Filipinos.”

Iyog added that CEB’s intensified operations in Cebu shows its dedication to promote tourism in Cebu and its neighboring cities in the Visayas and Mindanao region. She also explained that CEB is confident that their rapid regional expansion will bring in as many business and leisure travelers from abroad.

CEB operates the most number of domestic and international flights, routes and destinations to and from Cebu. CEB offers services from Cebu to Bacolod, Clark, Davao, Iloilo, Kalibo, Puerto Princesa, and Zamboanga. CEB also flies from Cebu to Hong Kong, Singapore, Pusan and Incheon in South Korea.

After the seat sale, the lowest ‘Go’ fare for the Cebu – Cagayan de Oro service starts from P288 one-way, still more than 82% lower than the current fare for this route. The best way to purchase tickets is through CEB’s website (www.cebupacificair.com), though this is also available through CEB ticket offices and accredited travel agents

Now in its 12th year, CEB has the youngest fleet in the Philippines with an average age of just over one year. CEB operates 14 brand new Airbus aircraft to its 20 domestic and soon to be 12 international destinations with the addition of Shanghai, Xiamen, Guangzhou, and Macau in the next quarter.
