Cebu Pacific to accept payments for flight changes via call center
Cebu Pacific (CEB), the Philippines’ leading domestic carrier, announced yesterday that it will be accepting payments for rebooking transactions via its call center beginning today, August 15, 2007.
Passengers may now call the 24-hour CEB hotline, (02) 70-20-888, to rebook their flights and pay for the rebooking fees using their credit cards (Visa or Mastercard) over the phone. CEB will also be increasing the capacity of their call center by another 30%, beginning September 1, to further improve the airline’s accessibility and convenience.
CEB currently processes approximately 450 rebooking transactions per day. The ability of its system to accept payments via call center will also help shorten queues in its ticketing offices.
Candice Iyog, CEB Vice President for Marketing and Product said, “We are the first and only Philippine carrier that allows guests to purchase tickets, make flight changes and accept credit card payments through its call center. We have always been known as an innovator in the industry and we are always looking for ways to improve our service to our guests.”
CEB pioneered the low-fare; great value strategy in Asia and was the first to introduce e-ticketing and online booking in the country. CEB also recently partnered with Europcar and Malayan Insurance to provide transport and an online insurance product, respectively.
“Our call center plays an important role in delivering our service to our guests and it is critical that we continue to find ways to make CEB more accessible to more people. We are also constantly looking for better ways to operate more effectively and efficiently.” Marvin Cui, Director for Reservations and Ticketing added.
Now in its 12th year, CEB has the youngest fleet in the Philippines with an average age of just over one year. CEB operates 14 brand new Airbus aircraft to its 20 domestic and soon to be 12 international destinations with the addition of Shanghai, Xiamen, Guangzhou, and Macau in the next quarter.
