Cebu Pacific ups Manila-Jakarta capacity
by almost 20%

Budget carrier Cebu Pacific (CEB), the airline unit of JG Summit Holdings Inc., will increase the capacity of its Manila-Jakarta service by close to 20%.

At present CEB serves direct flights to Jakarta three-times weekly using the 150-seater Airbus A319 aircraft. Beginning November 2, 2007, CEB will utilize a 179-seater Airbus A320 aircraft.

CEB started its three-times weekly Manila-Jakarta service last January 31, 2007.  CEB is the only airline operating a direct Manila-Jakarta service.

“We are confident that we can sell the additional seats with our low fares and stir both business and leisure travel especially since we are the only airline offering a direct service to Jakarta.” said Candice Iyog, CEB VP for Marketing and Product.

“More importantly, now that we have more seats available for this route, we are sure to be able to offer more low fares to our guests.”  Iyog added.

The lowest ‘Go’ fare to Jakarta starts from P2,999 one-way. This is exclusive of applicable surcharges and government tax. Iyog added that the best way to buy tickets is through its website www.cebupacificair.com.

Now in its 12th year, CEB has the youngest fleet in the Philippines with an average age of just over one year. CEB operates 14 brand new Airbus aircraft to its 20 domestic and soon to be 12 international destinations with the addition of Shanghai, Xiamen, Guangzhou, and Macau in the coming weeks.
