Cebu Pacific ups capacity on Manila-Puerto Princesa by more than 50%; offers P98 seat sale
Gokongwei-owned airline Cebu Pacific (CEB), the country’s leading domestic carrier, announced yesterday that it will grow its Manila–Puerto Princesa service from a daily service to a ten-times weekly service beginning September 26, 2007.
The additional frequencies translate to a capacity increase of more than 50%.
CEB is offering a P98 one-way fare for the Manila-Puerto Princesa route from August 24-31, 2007. The seat sale fare is good for travel from September 26 to December 15, 2007. Fares are exclusive of government taxes and applicable surcharges.
The additional flights are scheduled to operate using CEB’s 179-seater Airbus A320 aircraft every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The flight departs from Manila at 2:30pm and arrives at 3:45pm in Puerto Princesa. The return flight leaves Puerto Princesa at 4:15pm and lands in Manila at 5:30pm.
Candice Iyog, CEB Vice President for Marketing and Product described the additional flight as a significant step towards making Puerto Princesa a prime leisure destination for both foreign and local tourists.
Iyog explained, “We would like to grow Puerto Princesa further and see the destination reach its full potential. Now that we are increasing our capacity to this destination, we know that we can stimulate traffic even more with our trademark year round low fares.”
“The added flights will provide greater flexibility for our guests and Puerto Princesa, being a first class tourist destination, will definitely benefit from this.” she added.
After the seat sale, the lowest ‘Go’ fare to Puerto Princesa starts from P288 one-way. CEB operates the most number of flights in and out of Puerto Princesa. With the additional flights, CEB will now operate thirteen flights weekly to Puerto Princesa from both Manila and Cebu with convenient connections to many other destinations across the country.
Now in its twelfth year, CEB has the youngest fleet of aircraft in the Philippines with an average of just over a year. CEB operates 14 brand new Airbus aircraft to its 20 domestic and soon to be 12 international destinations with the addition of Shanghai, Xiamen, Guangzhou, and Macau in the next coming weeks.
