Cebu Pacific NewsroomCebu Pacific buys GE engines for new fleet of 14 AirbusesCebu Pacific Air (CEB) has recently signed an agreement for the purchase and maintenance of 31 GE engines for its 12 brand-new Airbus 319s and two A320s. The agreement was signed by CEB president Lance Gokongwei and CFMI president Pierre Fabre. CFMI is the equally-owned subsidiary of General Electric and France-based Snecma Moteurs, a leading international manufacturer and supplier of aircraft engine parts. Twenty-eight of the engines would be installed on the new aircraft while the remaining three would be used as spare. The agreement also calls for the supply of parts needed for maintenance. No amount was disclosed. Earlier, CEB announced the purchase of 12 new A319s and the lease of two A320s in a re-fleeting program aimed at expanding its domestic and regional services. The contract for the A319s had a list price of $670 million. The A320s are due by the second quarter of this year. The first A319s will come by September 2005, followed by monthly deliveries until early 2007. The signing ceremony was attended by Lance Gokongwei, CEB president and CEO; Danilo Mojica II, CEB General Manager; Pierre Fabre, CFMI president and Colin Low, GEAE Managing Director and General Manager. Together with them to witness are CEB and GEAE executives. |
