Hong Kong

No other city offers quite as many urban delights as Hong Kong.

Shopping? Possibilities range from hole-in-the-wall stores teeming with bargain goods to luxury malls with only the world's most exclusive labels. Food tripping? The choices are extraordinary, from street hawkers to quaint tea houses to the best of international cuisine. Nightlife? Go clubbing at the hottest bars in Soho and Lan Kwai Fong, drop by a neighborhood karaoke joint, or take a jetfoil to nearby Macau, famed for its casinos. Something out of the ordinary? Place your bets at the chic Happy Valley Race Course, take a day hike on one of Hong Kong's hilly trails, and of course, go on thrill rides or catch a dolphin show at Ocean Park, one of the city's biggest tourist draws.

Hong Kong is at its most vibrant during Chinese New Year, held every year in late January or early February. The celebration--which includes spectacular fireworks shows, intricate dragon dances and huge parades held over two weeks--is truly a feast for the senses!

And now, with Hong Kong Disneyland newly opened and quickly bringing in crowds, there's absolutely no reason not to visit Hong Kong.
