Cebu Pacific website provides a secure server that handles confidential information such as credit card or payment information.  This is encrypted using the latest Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology.  SSL is the industry standard tool that encrypts information and keeps the data private and confidential between your machine and Cebu Pacific. This technology makes it safe to transmit your credit card number over the Internet.

Two ways to verify your credit card information is being protected while purchasing on the Internet:

1. Look for an unbroken key  or a closed lock    in the lower left corner of your browser screen (lower right with Microsoft's Internet Explorer) versus a broken key    or an open padlock. 
2. Look at the address line (i.e. http://www.cebupacificair.com) at the top of the browser screen change from "http" to "https" as you access the secure page.

3D-SECURE: Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode

Payments using credit card go through an additional layer of security using 3D-secure technology, or more commonly called Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode.  3D-secure is an authentication step for online payments.  The main advantage of 3D-secure for cardholders is that there is a decreased risk of other people being able to use their payment cards fraudulently on the Internet.

A transaction using Verified by Visa/ MasterCard SecureCode will initiate a redirect to the website of the card issuing bank to authorise the transaction.  Each issuing bank could use any kind of authentication method but usually, a password-based method is used.  After authentication, the guest is redirected back to the Cebu Pacific website to complete his transaction.  For more information about 3D-secure, please contact your issuing bank.
