Flight Connections FAQs

Questions on this page:

What is a flight connection?

A flight connection is a combination of two (2) separate flights, with the arrival of the 1st flight timed to connect with the departure time of the 2nd flight. The 2 separate flights are sold under a single fare.

Where are the transit stations?

The transit stations are Manila, Cebu and Davao

How do I go about buying a ticket for my flight connection?

You may purchase tickets for connecting flights in the same way you purchase a ticket for a direct flight (ex. Manila-Cebu). Just quote the point of origin and the final destination

What is the procedure?

You will undergo a regular check-in procedure at the origin station but will be given two (2) boarding passes - 1 for your flight out of the origin station and another for your connecting flight at the transit station. Your bags will be tagged to go to the final destination. Upon reaching transit station, you have to proceed immediately to the transit area to wait for your connecting flight. Upon reaching your final destination, you may claim your checked-in baggage.

What do I do when I arrive at the transit station?

At the transit station, you have to immediately proceed to the transit area. Present boarding pass for the connecting flight and terminal fee coupon from the origin station and wait for your connecting flight at the pre-departure area.

Do I have to check-in at transit station?

There is no need for you to check-in again at the transit station because you already have your boarding pass with you. Just present it together with your terminal fee coupon from the origin station.

Do I have to pay for the terminal fee at the transit station?

As long as you present your terminal fee coupon from the origin station, you will not be charged for the terminal fee at the transit station.

Is the fare refundable?

Yes, our regular year-round Go fares are refundable and the tickets your purchase for your flight connections will follow the same rule. If, however, you purchased a promotional fare (seat sale) ticket, this is non-refundable.

Can I go out of the transit station's pre-departure area to go around while waiting for my next connecting flight?

You are allowed to go out of the terminal in-between your flights but we encourage guests to stay inside the pre-departure area to avoid misconnections especially since most of the flights have immediate connections.

I missed my connecting flight from the transit station. Can I refund the fare portion of the flight I missed?

You may refund the unused portion but this will be subject to quite a number of charges. Please refer to tariff sheet and applicable fare rules.

If I purchased a connecting flight on a per sector basis (i.e. I purchased a CEB-MNL flight then purchased a MNL-LAO ticket for travel on the same day), will I enjoy the same privileges as a connecting guest?

Unfortunately, this is not a flight connection product so you will have to claim your bags (i.e. in Manila) and you will have to check in again for your flight (i.e. to Laoag). You will also be required to pay for the terminal fee at the transit station.
