GO LITE FARES:
1. Why is Cebu Pacific offering a different fare, i.e., Go Lite fare for guests with no checked baggage?
Here are a couple of reasons why we offer a Go Lite fare:
Guests pay only for the service they need - Previously, the cost of checked baggage was included in every fare. Guests with no checked baggage subsidize guests with checked baggage. Now, guests with no checked baggage can save on fares.Improve efficiency at airport check-in - Fewer bags to check-in will improve check-in efficiency and shorten queues at the airport.Save on fuel costs - Less weight equals less fuel to burn.
Continue to offer lowest year-round fares - When guests bring only what they need, Cebu Pacific fuel costs will go down. With lower costs, we can continue to afford offering very low fares.
2. What are Go Lite fares?
This is a discounted fare offered to guests with no checked baggage at time of booking/ seat purchase.
3. How much is the fare discount on Go Lite fare?
Go Lite fare is PhP200 lower than Go fares. The Go Lite discount is to be applied on a roundtrip fare and not to be sold on a per sector basis (in all channels). The only time it will be sold on a per sector basis is when guest is booking a one-way flight.
4. When will this policy take effect?
This will be available for bookings made starting September 2, 2008.
5. How does this work?
At time of booking, guests with no checked baggage may avail of the Go Lite fare instead of purchasing a Go fare. This means that guests will not be bringing checked baggage along on the flight. In short, guests agree to 0kg Free Baggage Allowance (FBA).
6. What if a guest who purchased a Go Lite fare brings checked baggage on the day of the flight?
Guests will then have to pay a PhP300 baggage reinstatement fee for checked baggage within FBA. If guest exceeds FBA, then standard excess baggage rate will apply to the excess.
7. Why do guests need to pay a baggage reinstatement fee?
Guests have to pay a baggage reinstatement fee to reinstate the guest’s free baggage allowance which they did not avail when he availed of the Go Light fare.
8. Other airlines are not doing this yet; how come Cebu Pacific is implementing this policy?
We want to continue to offer the lowest year-round fares by keeping costs low for all our guests. With increasing fuel costs, we would like to encourage guests to travel light and pay only for the service they use.
Most low cost carriers in Europe and the US charge for checked baggage. The traditional carriers incorporate this in ticket prices. With Cebu Pacific, you have the choice of availing this service.
9. Is there a discount on airfare if guests will not bring hand luggage?
None. Discounted airfare only applies to checked baggage.
10. What if I refuse to pay for my checked baggage?
Unpaid checked baggage shall be left behind. Please do note that unattended or abandoned baggage shall be endorsed to aviation police stationed at the airport.
11. Can this be transferred to another guest?
Go Lite fares are non-transferable.
12. Are Go Lite fares refundable?
Yes, Go Lite fares are refundable but it is also subject to refund penalties.
13. Will I get compensated if my baggage is mishandled and will I then be entitled for a refund of the excess baggage charges and/ or baggage reinstatement fee?
Our existing policies on mishandled baggage shall apply. The excess baggage charges and/ or baggage reinstatement fee shall be non-refundable.
14. How do I avail of Go Lite?
When booking your flight, just indicate that you are not bringing checked-in bags; then you will be able to immediately avail of the Go Lite fare. This has to be availed at the point of booking.
15. How about bookings made before September 2 and their respective Free Baggage Allowances?
We will honor your 20-kilogram Free Baggage Allowance (FBA) if you made your booking before September 2. The new FBA of 15 kgs will apply to new bookings made on September 2, 2008 onwards.
16. What if I availed of a Go Lite fare and brought a luggage for check-in to the airport?
We will still allow you and your luggage to board the plane, but there will be a baggage reinstatement fee of P300.00 for your checked-in bag and this will cover your 15-kilogram Baggage Allowance.
PREPAID EXCESS BAGGAGE
1. What is Prepaid Excess Baggage/ Luggage Upsize?
It is the option of the guest with checked baggage exceeding FBA to settle EBR upon booking his flight and avail of discounted EBR.
2. When will this be available to guests?

3. Why is Cebu Pacific offering this option?
Cebu Pacific is offering this service for the benefit (20% discount on excess baggage rate) and convenience of guests at the airport on the day of his travel. With excess baggage fees already settled, guests will have a faster check-in process.
4. How does this work?
At the time of booking, guests must advise if he/she wants to avail of this prepaid option so that amount will be added to the total flight purchase price.
5. What are the charges on this option?
For every 5kg in excess, guests may avail of the prepaid option for PhP400, VAT-inclusive on domestic flights and PhP1,600 on international flights.
6. Can I get the above same rates at the airport?
No, standard excess baggage rates will already apply at the airport. Prepaid excess baggage must be booked and paid upon booking of flight, at least 24 hours prior to departure date online and 4 hours before flight departure through Call Center and ticket offices.
7. Are prepaid rates refundable?
The prepaid rate is non-refundable if the guest cancels the trip or if the flight is cancelled due to force majeure (in this case, it will apply on the rebooked flight). However, if the flight is cancelled due to the airline’s fault, the prepaid rate is refundable.
8. What if the guest’s actual weight of checked baggage exceeds the weight prepaid, how will this be handled?
If actual weight exceeds the prepaid excess weight, standard excess baggage rates will apply to the excess. If actual weight is less than the weight prepaid, excess amount will be forfeited.
9. Can this be transferred to another guest?
No, this is not transferable. However, this may apply to pooling – that is, when 2 or more guests under 1 booking reference present themselves and their checked baggage for check-in at the same time at the airport, they may combine their individual checked baggage allowance and prepaid excess baggage rates.
10. I’m bringing 35kg of checked baggage, and I’d like to avail of prepaid excess baggage option. How should I go about this?
You are entitled to a 15kg FBA (regular Go fare paying guest) and you may avail of 15kg prepaid excess baggage option. The 5kg in excess may only be accommodated on a space available basis and must be settled at the airport using standard excess baggage rates.

Guests may start choosing their seats for a fee for flights effective August 27, 2008.
2. How can guests get their seat preference?
Seats are reserved once paid. This service is made available online up to 24 hours before flight departure, via the Call Center and sales office up to 4 hours before flight departure.
3. How does this work?
All seats in the aircraft may be reserved prior check-in by paying a fee. Standard seats are sold at PhP100 per seat per sector while premium seats (those on the front row and exit row) are sold at PhP200.
4. Why is the airline selling these seats?
The airline would like to give guests the opportunity to reserve their preferred seat at time of booking rather than request with no guarantee when they check-in. This will allow guests to: seat together with their companions book for extra legroom
5. What happens if I don’t choose a seat?
We shall then automatically assign a vacant seat to you. There is no guarantee that you will get the seat you want, and be seated together with your companions.
6. I paid for a premium seat so why am I being refused my seat at check-in?
There are certain conditions (criteria) that guest must meet in order to get a premium seat like: guest must be over 15 years of age
guest must be willing to help or assist cabin attendants in the event of an evacuation/ emergency situation
guest must be fit and able-bodied
guest must be able to speak in English

7. Can I still make a seat request at the airport when I check-in?

8. Do I pay for my seat request at the airport?
